Growing up
in Tel Aviv of late 50th surrounded by art by leading Israeli painters of the time, I started to paint when I was 6 years old. Since then,
painting was existential mean for me of observing the world.
I have been rambling from different styles to further
painting languages,
teaching myself techniques borrowed from Dali's surrealism, absorbing the
impressionist way, reading a lot of impressionist's
biographies and thus
influenced by Van Gogh, Degas and Renoir. Ltter
on I was inspired by German expressionists.
For many reasons
I preferred at the time
not to make of my art a source of living and besides, I had no urge to exhibit in public
I have BA in Psychology & Philosophy
from the Tel Aviv University and I managed a successful career in
Human Resources
Management both in Israeli and International Companies.
My last position
was as a V.P. of Human Resources in a large and
leading Israeli communication
company.
In
the last few years, I found myself more focused on painting than any
other activity. Feeling that my professional career is fulfilled, I decided to step into a
path of personal development, and to do what it takes to accomplish
myself as an artist.
As part of
the new road I have chosen I have the need for dialog with
the world through my art.
Where
am I as an artist?
Admiring
the Impressionists, curious about the Expressionists (Germans especially). I am very much connected to emotions and passion, colors and movement, lesser to story like, conceptual or intellectual
panting.
Sensitive
to details, nuances, gestures on one hand and experiencing the civilization,
the city life, the high frequencies of the Urban life, the day
to day aggression on the other, I am finding
myself bridging
between the need to keep the romanticism and sensitivity
(which I believe is no longer relevant as is to our Urban culture) within a strait forward fast and aggressive work on the canvas. Divert from major
powerful colors panted with strong brash hitting the canvas to minor
and soft colors and soft touch ones.
